The Show

The Beat Connection was the name of my former radio show on WMEB 91.9 FM, in Orono, Maine. It is the University of Maine’s student-run radio station, and I am a former Music Director there. You can check them out here.

The concept behind The Beat Connection is my love for electronica, remixes, and techno as well alternative, rock, and indie music. A little bipolar perhaps, but that just makes things more interesting. Think of The Beat Connection as some lithium for your music personality, the connection between the beats of two different genres. The Beat Connection gets it’s name from LCD Soundsystem’s song of the same title. Inspiration for the concept came from the Mixolash mash-up of “The Beat Connection” and !!!’s “Hey, Is This Thing On?”

Obviously, I can’t spin up in Orono anymore, and I do plan on finding a place to spin when I get back to school in the fall, but in the meantime, check back every week for a link to the playlist, complete with uploaded .zip files of the .mp3’s of my playlist!

Sweet, right?
